What's this? Summer? Can't be! There's no sun!

Tue Jul 21, 2009, 11:51 AM
Hallo peoples of deviantart! For one and a half weeks now, I've been on my summer holidays. But it's been busy and despite making a few idle errors, it's been fun. Because I am incapable in writing any sort of ordered dA journal, I'm just going to tell you about what I've been doing...

Criminal Minds - Damnit, I have watched quite a lot of Criminal Minds and if you ever get the opportunity, YOU SHOULD TOO! It's amazing.

Bristol Competition - I went to Bristol with Cadence (A Drum and Bugle Corps... Muahahaha) and we won which isn't that surprising as there was only one band in our division but we did go up loads of points which is good. Then this little shitty 15 year old in the band decided to patronise me. Note to self - beat up 15 year olds.

Hide and Seek - I went to a friend's house and we played Hide and Seek in the woods. I got lost (write FAIL on head). However, on my grand adventure around said woods I managed to bump into a guy who was with a dog that was trained to search for explosives and walk straight through an army training exercise (It's an MoD training ground where we went).

Kids' Party - I went and helped out at a Kids' Party with SHAWNEE. Now, imagine going up and down a ski slope with dinghys for about an hour. It was like some extreme version of DofE, it was crazy! It was great fun though as we got to torment young children and I enjoyed myself even though I was kuh-nackered afterwards.

Harry Potter - I went and watched Harry Potter. It was great - definitely one of the funniest of the series and after that major event at the end of the film, it was great contrast to have nice, happy, cheery music on. I also had pick and mix which was yummy :P.

This is all for now! If you're disgusted that I've missed anything specific please feel free to slap me with a wet trout.

Fare ye well!

Hallo everyone!

I have now finished exams and am now having what I thought would be a relaxing summer.. though it has turned out to be almost as much work. However, summer is being very fun and I am getting lots of stuff done and having fun times. So as to balance out good stuff with pre-empted possible emoesque rantage, I am going to create a list.

:):):):):):):)

:) - I went to a party on Saturday with some friends and had a super fun time with much needed dressing up as a ninja and drinkage. I want to do that sort of stuff more often *nods*

:) - It is "Summer" soon (as in the holidays) and summer is going to be awesome-super-cool. I, hopefully, have two larp events, V festival, turning 18 and a whole raft of other party fun times. If anyone here wants to get up to stuff... they should message me :)

:) - My dad just bought, like, a million packets of Blackcurrant Jammy Dogdgers.

:) - After dropping German, and with no more exams, I have more time to spend with my friendsises.

:) I have drums and I now have more time to play them.

:(:(:(:(:(:(:(

:( - I don't know what's happened recently but it's all culminated today in me feeling suddenly quite nervous/paranoid. Firstly with regards to my Mum who I can worry about even when nothing is happening specifically at that time and I probably have no other reason to worry about and when that happens I start running through hypothetical situations in my head and 'tis not good. I'm feeling a bit nervous and getting all paranoid over other, small things too.

:( - Secondly, I've got to that strange point I get to sometimes where I start worrying incessantly over people's opinions about me. And that's not me trying to get people to pay more attention to me or "fish for compliments" as loads of people tell me - I just really worry sometimes whether people actually want to hang around or talk to me. Gah, I should shut up. IGNORE! You guys shouldn't have to deal with my crazy :)

If you've read that... then you're probably a better person than me.

Will report as soon as more stuff happens.

Ahem. My life in soundbites.

Wed May 13, 2009, 1:58 PM
I felt I ought to update the journal. It was probably a tad silly not to update a post against the Jade Goody situation after she died.

Anyway, what with me using Facebook now more than dA, I have the horrible feeling that my life has turned into a series of silly links and status updates. This means I lose out on all the fun detail that I am so fond of. It also means I only put up useless statuses like "Hazel will einen Flaschengeist".

I've been doing many interesting things recently... Well, not so much interesting but more... notable. Yesterday, I wast stabbed by an off-duty district nurse. In these tough swine-flu times, it appears I was not adequately protected against Measles, mumps and rubella :( Anyway, while I was getting stabbed, she insisted on telling my all about the thrush she had in Tenerife.

I'm currently in the middle of exam-time. I had a German Oral a few weeks ago, had a general studies exam last Monday and have 7 more exams to go.

None of that was particularly interesting or relevant but still...

I don't know if you've read Lord of the Rings through recently but I'm reading it to my Mum currently and you wouldn't believe how often old J.R.R.R.R.R.R.R.R.R Tolkein uses the word "thrust"... It's crazy.

I want to go back to LARP... I've got until the end of August :( 'Tis sehr annoying.

This summer's going to be so much fun.

Hmmm... Anything else?

Jade Goody

Fri Feb 27, 2009, 5:03 PM
Right, I have to get something out about this. First, can I just say that I feel infinitely sorry for Jade Goody while she is suffering from cancer. It really is tragic and it's nice that so many people in the country are behind her (I am too). I'm not saying anything against her.

But I have an issue. I keep reading these articles on the BBC news website (which is basically where I live) and none of them mention anything about Cancer charities or cancer research or anything like that. I haven't directly experienced cancer in my close family. I had a distant friend who died from Leukemia - my grandma died from it before I was born and a friend's Mum is also suffering from it. Ya know, Jade Goody is not the only one who has it. I think it's something like 1 in 3 people will be directly affected by cancer. Why aren't people making a massive deal about raising money for charity etc,? If the public really cares about this, why isn't there ya know, surplus ribbon buying? It makes you a bit cynical about society, doesn't it? It's all boiling down to her being famous. It just seems strange. Also, MAX CLIFFORD (very annoying publicist) is milking eeeeeverything about the whole case which seems a little bit sick.

Do any of my watchers have any opinion on this?

I finally used eBay!

Sun Feb 22, 2009, 6:35 PM
Today, I used eBay. Aren't you proud of me? My superamazing Mr. Men/Ribbons/Shinysparkly bag I got from Camden dissolved. Dissolved! The threads got a bit wet and the handle seemingly fell apart. I needed a new bag anyway as that one couldn't hold anything. However,

I hate impulse buys so I'm currently looking over and re-looking over the bag to make sure there's nothing wrong with it. I had two choices

[link] - The super cool Eastpak one that cost 35 squid or...

[link] - The coolish, inoffensive one that cost 15.

Because I'm boring I chose the second one :P.

I've just waffled for that long ^ about my rucksack. Gahhhhhhhh, I need to go sleep. BUT I CAN'T!!!!! My sleep patterns are too messed up. I really am tempted to skip out on sleep tonight so I'll be so tired Monday night I'll just slip right into Dreamland. I got the hiccups at 3am last night so didn't get to sleep. It was horrible.

Oh, by the way... I put up a new deviation. Of course, you don't have to comment on it (because I probably don't enough on yours!) but I'd like you to >.> A lot of E-numbers went into that.

I will write a coherent and planned blog one day.
